Gellert Hotel and Random Budapest Pics

The Gellert Hotel is the finest of all the great bath houses in Budapest. We enjoyed a morning sitting in the many of the warm pools around the Hotel. We got nice and fat eating at all the great restaurants including Bagolyvar in the Owl's Castle. Cheap beer and cheap food.

Matyas Church and Views of Budapest

The original church was raised in the same spot in 1015, but was destroyed by the Tatars in 1241. The Fisherman's Bastion was built as a monument to the Guild of Fishermen in 1895. There are many great places to view the city, including the plane.

National Gallery, Parliment, and Royal Palace

The parliment building was the largest in the world during the early 20th century. More than 10,000 exhibits spread throughout the national gallery in the royal palace make it one of the largest in the world.

St Stephen's Basilica

The basilica built from 1851 to 1905 is visible from all over Budapest. We went on the roof for some great views of the city.

Budapest Vaci Utca

For Anje's 25th birtday we went off to Budapest for 5 days. We stayed in an apartment on Budapest's most famous street, Vaci Utca. It was once the main road that connected Pest to the town of Vac. Budapest's largest market was about a minute walk at the end of our street.

Devonshire Green Walking Club

We are a part of walking club at our church Christ Church Central that meets once a month. They are very easy social walks but it gives everyone a chance to get to know eachother better. We usually end up walking close to our house.
